IAIP Region VII Conference

HAIP members Mark Coberly, Preston Jones, Sharilyn Lau, Martha Nobriga, Ron Mui and Hawaii MAL Tracy Adams attended the IAIP Region VII Conference in Sacramento, CA that started on Thursday, March 7 through Saturday, March 10, 2019.  

Thursday was a day of education.  There were CLP classes offered that included a renewal class.  Other classes included Wild Fire Coverage, Personal Branding, Beyond the Basics of Advanced Flood (3 CE Credits Course), and the ABCs of Cannabis.  

Friday morning started with the CWC Speak-Off competition where HAIP's Ron Mui competed and performed with excellence and confidence and came in as First Runner Up!  There were business meetings and meet & greet opportunities for First timers/Gold Timers, Young & New Professionals, and President's Meeting with the RVP.  The Welcome Party included a game of Family Feud where HAIP had 2 teams of 4 and invited 2 members of the Greater Seattle Insurance Professional to join their team.

Saturday morning started with a wonderful presentation from the Keynote Speaker, Cerrina Jensen. Then the second session of business meetings were held where the new Region VII RVP, Robin Souza was voted in by the delegates from each association.  Saturday evening was the semi-formal Awards Banquet and PIC Productions performed a skit entitled "Follow the Money" in which 2 HAIP members, Mark Coberly and Ron Mui starred in a cast of 9 others.  It was all great fun!

The 2018-2019 Region VII did not disappoint, as it was a wonderful opportunity of learning and networking; seeing old friends and making new ones.  All members of HAIP are urged to attend future IAIP Regional Conferences and International Conventions.
