A big Mahalo to HAIP members Chenise Blalock, Carolyn Pearl, Martin Beardeaux, Gail Nakasone and Linda Ipsen who helped with judging the annual essay contest for the Eddie Aikau Foundation.  Several public and private school students in grades 7-10 submitted essays for this year's topic: Kapu Aloha (to act with restraint, love, and understanding) when faced with confrontation or opposition, which Eddie Aikau practiced as a Ka'i (proctector, guardian) of Waimea Bay and the Hawaiian culture.  The students were to provide examples of these val

March of Dimes - March for Babies

HAIP members, Mark Coberly and Charlene "Chuck" Mizumoto joined hundreds of others in the March for Babies sponsored by the March of Dimes Hawaii.  It is always a great way to get some exercises as the walk was 3.5 miles, meet other amazing people in the community, and raise money for a worthwhile cause.  Mark raised over $600.00 in donations for this year's walk!

March of Dimes - Volunteers at Dave & Busters Event

HAIP members volunteered their time to the March of Dimes' Pre-Walk Registration.  Our members assisted with folding the March for Babies t-shirts and sorted them by size for easy distribution to the walkers who registered.  HAIP members also checked-in the walkers who came in to drop-off their donations and pick-up their t-shirts and stickers for the big walk on April 20, 2019!

The March of Dimes Hawaii is always appreciative of HAIP and their service!

Make-a-Wish Hawaii - Jingle Rock Run 2019

Team HAIP was present at the 2019 Jingle Rock Run sponsored by Make-A-Wish Hawaii in support of the keiki in our islands who are newly-diagnosed with a critical illness. It is the vision of Make-A-Wish Hawaii to grant the wishes of every eligible child.  The walk/run was a 5k from the state capitol through Kakaako and downtown.  Over 7,000 participants and HAIP was proud to be part and had a lot of fun!

March of Dimes Governor's Ball 2018

HAIP members were at it again this year .  .  . volunteering at the March of Dimes Annual Governor's Ball.  Our efforts include registering the multitude of guests that come to the event to support the March of Dimes.  Our volunteers also assist during the live auction as "spotters" for the auctioneer, so he didn't miss a bidder!
